The Pop Promise
This project was started out of frustration with the current state of game reviews. It's hard to know who to trust. Are you reading a real review, an ad, or a bot? Our goal is to build a platform for authentic, reliable, community-driven reviews. This is our promise for how we'll get there.
1. Your Privacy is a Feature, Not an Afterthought.
We will never sell your personal data. We will never use third-party ad-tracking cookies. This site isn't a data-harvesting machine; it's a tool for gamers. We only collect the minimum data needed for the site to work, like your public Steam ID for login and your game library for "Proof of Play." That's it.
2. You Are in Control. Always.
Your security and data are yours. We use Steam's official OpenID system, which means we never see or store your password. You have granular control to make your profile fully private, or just hide specific parts like your game library, achievements, and follow lists. If you ever want to leave, you can permanently delete your account and all of your content from the Settings page.
3. Built for Players, Not for Publishers.
PopReviews is an independent platform. We are not beholden to publishers, developers, or advertisers. Our "Proof of Play" system is our core commitment to authenticity, ensuring reviews come from real players. This project is built to serve the community, and its future will be shaped by your feedback, not by corporate interests.
