1. Information We Collect

We collect information that is necessary to provide and improve our Service.

• Steam Account Information: To use our Service, you must authenticate with your Steam account. We receive your public Steam ID, profile name, and profile image from Steam. We do not receive or store your Steam password or login credentials.
• Public Steam Data: We access your publicly available Steam library (owned games and playtime) and achievement progress to provide our core "Proof of Play" verification and display your game library and achievement showcases on your profile. This information is periodically refreshed.
• User-Generated Content: We collect the content you create on the Service, including your reviews, ratings, votes, feedback, and reports.
• Usage Data: We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool, to collect anonymous data about your visit, such as the pages you view and your country of origin. This data is not tied to your personal identity and contains no personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• Authenticate your identity and link your Steam account.
• Verify game ownership ("Proof of Play") for your reviews.
• Display your User Content (reviews, ratings) to other users, associated with your profile name and image.
• Display your game library and achievement progress on your profile, subject to your privacy settings.
• Allow you to make your profile private, which anonymizes your reviews and hides your profile page (including games and achievements) from other users.
• Allow you to granularly hide your game library or achievements via your Settings.
• Analyze usage to improve the Service (via anonymous analytics).
• Moderate content and respond to feedback and reports.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We believe in data minimization. We do not:

• Collect any personal tracking information for advertising.
• Use third-party advertising cookies.
• Sell your personal data to any third parties.
• Collect any personal information beyond what Steam provides (Steam ID, name, image, public game data) and what you generate on the site (reviews, votes).

4. Your Data Control & Rights

You have control over your data:

• Profile Privacy: You can set your profile to "Private" in your Settings. This will anonymize all your past and future reviews and hide your profile page from public view.
• Granular Privacy: Even on a public profile, you can choose to hide your "Games" tab and "Achievements" tab individually from your Settings.
• Edit/Delete Content: You can edit or delete your reviews at any time from the game page or your profile page.
• Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account from your Settings page. This will delete your user record, all reviews, and all of your content. This action is irreversible.

5. Data Security

We use standard security measures to protect your information. Your login is handled securely by Steam via OpenID. All site data is stored in a secure database. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Cookies

We use one essential cookie (`popreviews_session`) to keep you logged in. We do not use any third-party marketing or tracking cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
